York Space Systems was founded to radically improve spacecraft affordability and reliability, transforming, and enabling next-generation space mission operations worldwide. Today, York is one of the most innovative aerospace companies, specializing in end-to-end customer solutions and the rapid production of spacecraft platforms. York's complete Space Segment Solution includes spacecraft production, payload integration, system integration & test, launch services, ground segment services, and mission operations, enabling customers to leverage York's existing technology solutions to get to orbit rapidly and responsively. We're looking to expand our team across the board.
We are looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer who is excited about building and pushing the boundaries of software to operate spacecrafts. Our software is a modern (React/TypeScript, C# .NET) web-based application which operators use to monitor and task space vehicles. You'll be responsible for working with engineers, operators, and customers to understand requirements and implement features, bug fixes, and other improvements. Prior space-industry experience is not required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop key user-facing features to support both current and future missions using C#, React, Typescript
  • Translate designs and requirements into high quality code.
  • Build reusable components, design systems and front-end libraries for future use.
  • Develop internal and external facing API's.
  • Engineer algorithms and business logic to power a rapidly evolving application.
  • Write unit tests and documentation.
  • Collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Participate in technical design for new features and technologies.
  • Participate in code reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • 4+ years of software engineering.
  • Strong full-stack web engineering experience.
  • Experience with strongly typed backend languages, such as C#.
  • Exceptional problem solving skills.
  • Understanding of modern React and its core principles.
  • Experience with common front-end development tools, such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
  • Experience with Git.
  • Thorough knowledge of API's.
  • Experience with SQL Databases.
  • Eagerness to continue to learn and improve.
  • Desire to mentor and participate in the growth of peers.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Computer science degree.
  • React using TypeScript.
  • Experience with modern state management tools such as Recoil.js, React Query, Mobx, etc.
  • Experience with modern security practices.
  • Ability to obtain and hold a security clearance.
