Join Proximo, a Spanish tapas and wine bar inspired by the vibrant tavernas of Spain. As a Junior $45000.00 - $50000.00 per yearSous Chef, you will work alongside highly skilled culinary professionals, learning new techniques and recipes that will elevate your culinary expertise.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef in creating and preparing delicious tapas dishes
  • Manage kitchen operations during service hours
  • Ensure food quality and presentation meet the highest standards
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items

Job Requirements:

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field

Próximo, a Spanish tapas and wine bar, is inspired by the tavernas and tapas bars of San Sebastian and Logrono, Spain. The casual, vibrant and dynamic feel of those restaurants felt just right for the cozy space on East Franklin Street.
Owned by Brandon and Elizabeth Sharp (who also have Hawthorne & Wood, a fine dining restaurant and bar, and Bluebird, a French bistro, both located in Chapel Hill), Proximo will be their first business in downtown Chapel Hill.
Proximo's General Manager is El Faust. Neal Benefield will oversee the restaurant as Director of Operations.
