This role provides hands-on experience in world-building and prepares interns for a full-time environment artist position.
As an Environment Artist Intern, you will typically assist in creating and refining 3D assets, textures, and environmental elements under the guidance of senior artists. Your tasks may include modeling props, set dressing, optimizing assets for performance, and helping to implement environments within a game engine. You'll likely work closely with level designers, concept artists, and other team members, providing support and incorporating feedback to achieve the desired artistic vision. This hands-on experience is an excellent opportunity to build your skills, expand your portfolio, and learn best practices from experienced professionals, which can help open doors to future career advancement in the industry.

Familiarity with industry-standard tools such as Autodesk Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Unreal Engine or Unity is common and advantageous. Strong teamwork, attention to detail, and effective communication skills help you collaborate with designers and other artists. These skills are vital for creating compelling, immersive environments that enhance the overall visual experience in games or simulations.
