Job description

Barbaricum seeks a Junior Intelligence Analyst to provide analytic support to a DHS customer. Analysts will support the Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (CWMD) Office of Information Analysis Directorate and Strategy, Plans, and Policy Directorate with the mission of enhancing the Department's ability to prevent terrorists and other threat actors from using weapons of mass destruction.

The CWMD Office is responsible for coordinating federal efforts and developing strategy and policy to plan for, detect, and protect against the importation, possession, development, or use of unauthorized chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear (CBRN) materials, devices, or agents in the United States.

The Role:

The Junior Intelligence Analyst supports WMD threat analysis and production efforts under the guidance of senior analysts. This role contributes to the development of analytic products that inform DHS leadership, DHS Components, and federal, state, and local homeland security partners on emerging and evolving WMD threats and mitigation strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of WMD and CBRN-related threats to support homeland security missions
  • Contribute to analytic products including written reports, briefings, and presentations for DHS leadership and partner organizations
  • Support the identification, assessment, and understanding of WMD homeland threats and assist in developing recommendations to mitigate and disrupt those threats
  • Serve as a contributing or primary author on select analytic products and projects, commensurate with experience level
  • Support coordination and collaboration efforts with DHS Components and other U.S. Government and Intelligence Community partners at the analyst level
  • Apply structured analytic techniques and intelligence tradecraft in support of mission requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Active DoD TS/CI Clearance
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field (e.g., Intelligence Studies, International Relations, Political Science, Security Studies, or related discipline)
  • Up to 3 years of experience in intelligence analysis or a related analytical field
  • Foundational understanding of intelligence analysis principles, processes, and reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based analytic environment

Desired Qualifications:

  • Previous experience supporting CBRN or WMD-related intelligence analysis
  • Familiarity with intelligence systems, tools, or law enforcement intelligence environments
  • Experience producing written analytic products for government or operational customers
