Junior DevOps - Engineer

SALARY: $85k - $120k plus discretionary bonus

LOCATION: WOODRIDGE, IL

Onsite 4 days a week

A startup, hedge fund/proprietary trading firm. Looking for a junior devops engineer with strong system administration skills. Linux on backend windows on frontend. Python bash PowerShell TCP/IP GIT CICD IoC observability monitoring 1-3 years experience no med to seniors

Seeking a Junior DevOps Engineer to help build, support, and improve the infrastructure that powers our trading operations. This role is heavily focused on system reliability, automation, troubleshooting, and operational support within a fast-paced proprietary trading environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support trading infrastructure across multiple exchanges and markets Maintain and troubleshoot Linux and Windows server environments
  • Develop and maintain automation tools using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages
  • Build monitoring systems, dashboards, and alerting infrastructure
  • Diagnose and resolve networking, application, and operating system issues in production environments
  • Analyze logs and packet captures to troubleshoot trading and connectivity issues
  • Collaborate with developers and traders to support new trading initiatives and infrastructure requirements
  • Implement infrastructure-as-code and automation best practices
  • Required Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of professional experience in DevOps, Infrastructure Engineering, SRE, or Trade Support
  • Strong administration and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience supporting Windows & Linux Server environments
  • Scripting experience with Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex production issues across infrastructure and applications
  • Comfortable working in high-pressure production environments
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Database Sql experience
  • Ability to work on-site
