Job description

Reporting to the Chief Quality Officer (CQO) and with oversight supervision from Director of Quality, this role takes lead for quality improvement projects that advance Tampa General Hospital's goals. Responsible for developing and maintaining project plans for programs like sepsis, harm measures, age-friendly initiatives, and TKA/THA. Oversees projects from start to finish, tracks milestones and risks, escalates issues as needed, and facilitates cross-functional teams to align outcomes with hospital priorities. Manages audit schedules and documentation for compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and internal requirements. Acts as liaison during audits and ensure deadlines are met through organized project management. Works with IT and clinical teams to enhance quality workflows, dashboards, and reports, prioritizing defect fixes and improvements that impact outcomes. Standardizes dashboards for harm measures and SEP-1 compliance and delivers monthly updates to leadership to support transparency in quality initiatives. Partners with management on departmental needs, mentors junior staff, and promotes the hospital's mission and values and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree Industrial Engineering, Master's Degree Healthcare Administration, Master's Degree Business Administration, Master's Degree Public Health, Master's Degree Informatics, Master's Degree Operations Management, Master's Degree Nursing, Master's Degree Health Science or Master's Degree Related Field

  • License/Registration - Issued by Florida or Compact State Registered Nurse

  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS), American Society of Quality (ASQ), Project Management Professional (PMP) or Lean/Six Sigma

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality/performance improvement in the healthcare setting OR Healthcare Professional with a minimum of 5 years in clinician, coordinator, specialist, or informatics role with experience leading quality improvement Certification may be earned within 2 years of hire. An equivalent combination of education/certification and realized competencies
