The Opportunity: We are looking for a Junior Software Developer to contribute to application development, backend engineering, database operations, and cloud-based environments. This role is well suited for an early-career developer who enjoys solving technical problems, working across different technologies, and building a strong foundation in software engineering and database management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance software applications and backend services.
  • Build and support backend functionality using Python.
  • Work with JavaScript and Node.js to support application features and interfaces.
  • Perform database development and administration activities across various database platforms.
  • Write, review, and optimize database queries to support application requirements.
  • Monitor database performance and assist with troubleshooting database-related issues.
  • Support database maintenance, configuration, backups, recovery, and data integrity activities.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on software development experience with Python or another general-purpose programming language.
  • Understanding of software development fundamentals, including coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with databases and understanding of core database concepts.
  • Familiarity with one or more database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Couchbase, Cassandra, or Yugabyte.
  • Basic understanding of database administration, queries, performance, and data management.
  • Working knowledge of Linux and common command-line operations.
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and familiarity with AWS and/or Google Cloud.
