Job description

Description

Who we are:

EDAG Inc. is a globally leading, independent engineering services provider that combines excellent engineering with the latest technology trends.  We are the experts in the all-round development of complete vehicles and smart factories. Our interdisciplinary expertise in the areas of software and digitalization means that we have the crucial skills to actively shape dynamic transformation processes as an innovative partner.

Development with passion. That's us.

Our expertise has made us what we are: leading independent global engineering experts for automotive and non-automotive companies, who combine engineering excellence with the latest technological trends.

With an interdisciplinary team of around 9,000 experts, EDAG develops unique mobility and industrial solutions for customers that include the world's leading automotive and non-automotive companies.

This is how you will grow:

The Junior Material Flow Engineer supports the design, documentation, and field verification of material handling equipment and lineside layouts for a greenfield automotive assembly launch. This is a hands-on, execution-focused role - the work is split between CAD layout development, PFEP and equipment database maintenance, and regular site visits to field-check conditions and support installation.

The role works under the direction of senior material flow engineers and interfaces with client teams and contractors in the field. It is a strong fit for an early-career engineer who wants real program exposure on a ground-up vehicle launch rather than sustaining work.

The position is Michigan-based with consistent on-site travel to Indiana. Candidates local to the Warsaw/Fort Wayne area will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain lineside material layout drawings in AutoCAD 2D; 3D exposure applied where available
  • Maintain equipment tracking logs, PFEP inputs, and parts classification documentation in Excel and Access
  • Conduct field visits to verify as-built conditions, check equipment placement against design intent, and document      discrepancies
  • Support installation activities by coordinating with contractors on-site and escalating issues to senior engineers
  • Assist in preparing engineering deliverables including RFQ exhibits, equipment cut sheets, and layout packages

Requirements

This is how you will take us forward:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Mechanical,  Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline
  • Direct exposure to automotive manufacturing  environments required - co-op, internship, or early professional experience in a plant setting is the baseline; candidates without this  will not be considered
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D; ability to read and redline  construction and equipment drawings
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data tracking and documentation
  • Ability and willingness to travel to Indiana regularly throughout the program

No Sponsorship is available at this time
