Location: Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret Security Clearance Travel Required: Up to 10% of the time

We are seeking a Junior Cyber Security Engineer to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills, be a team player, possess excellent communications and interpersonal skills and be able to adapt to an ever-changing environment.
  • Perform regular monitoring of systems/applications for cyber security compliance to include STIG/patching
  • Review and analyze appropriate system logs for performance and behavior anomalies, determine negative trends, and develop recommended corrective actions
  • Understand security vulnerabilities in various SW and HW platforms and be able to recommend mitigations
  • Perform vulnerability scans and assist in security audits
  • Assist with security tools and provide technical help to Cyber Teams
  • Maintain security documentation and support cyber security policy implementation and compliance
  • Basic understanding of networking, operating systems (Linux/Windows), and various security tools
  • Must possess strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills
  • Apply basic diagnostic techniques to identify problems, investigate causes and recommend solutions to correct common failures to supervisors
  • Escalate complex problems to senior level personnel
  • Perform other Cyber duties as assigned

What You Bring

Basic Requirements:

  • Must have 2, or more, years of general (full-time) work experience
    • May be reduced with completion of advanced education
  • Must have 6, or more, months of direct IT experience
  • Must have, or obtain within 3 months, a current DoD 8570.01M IAT Level II certification
  • Must have, or obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

  • Have strong skills using Microsoft Management technologies, to include Active Directory services (AD) and Windows Server Update Skills (WSUS)
  • Have experience with SCCM/SMS or related patching products in an enterprise environment
  • Have experience assessing, summarizing, and providing technical guidance for security directives and patches in support of Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) Program
