Job Description:Job Description:Broadcom's Mainframe Software Division (MSD) is looking for a talented, motivated, and experienced Software Engineer with a passion for building high-quality applications using Agile practices to join our Mainframe CyberSecurity & Compliance team. In this role, you will be a key member of the development team and will focus on building, testing, and supporting security and encryption within the Mainframe Software Division Portfolio. This portfolio of products is used by many of the world's largest companies.

We are looking for an engineer who is highly motivated, team oriented, and has excellent organization and problem-solving skills. The individual and team goal will be to develop and maintain high-quality software aligned with user needs and business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-quality software design and architecture

  • Produce, test, and debug software solutions

  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.

  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.

  • Provide peer leadership by actively participating and contributing in all Agile activities: Iteration planning, refinement, and sprint reviews. Volunteer for and commit to delivering stories and tasks within the sprint.

  • Interact with customers for requirements, support issues, education, demonstrations, thought leadership, and feedback sessions.

  • Technical interaction with product management and customers

  • Coordination with management and internal teams

  • Automating tasks through appropriate tools and scripting

  • Performing validation and verification testing

  • Ensuring software is up-to-date with latest technologies

Requirements

  • Proven Mainframe knowledge and skills

  • z/OS Operating system familiarity

  • Proficiency in IBM Assembler language and Metal C programming languages

  • Strong understanding of security protocols and Mainframe Security Managers (ACF2, Top Secret, and RACF)

  • Proficiency in z/OS Security & Cryptography: Integrated Cryptographic Service Facility (ICSF), z/OS System SSL, and Public Key Cryptography Standards (PKCS)

  • Knowledge of IBM Crypto Express (CEX) coprocessors and cryptographic hardware architecture on zSystems.

  • Experience with IBM Z Java cryptographic service providers

  • Deep understanding of encryption including: TLS/SSL, AES, RSA, ECC, hashing algorithms, and public key infrastructure (PKI) tailored to enterprise mainframes.

  • Proficiency managing master keys, operational keys, and digital certificates using ACF2, Top Secret or RACF.

  • Strong understanding of PQC encryption algorithms and technologies in preparedness for Quantum computing

  • Interactive debugging tool (XDC) and dump reading experience

  • Attention to detail and a quality-first mindset following coding best practices and unit testing, with a focus on continuous improvement in code coverage quality.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex technical challenges.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Desired Mainframe Technical Skills & Experience

  • Solid knowledge of Unix/USS, SMP/E, z/OSMF, Endevor, reading system dumps, TSO/ISPF.

  • Additional experience or familiarity in one or more of the following languages: Java, COBOL, ISPF, REXX, or JCL.

  • Experience with Blackduck, Coverity, zACS tools.

  • Experience with cybersecurity and compliance-related topics.

  • Knowledge of API security best practices, including authentication and authorization mechanisms.

  • Knowledge with tools and frameworks for API testing and documentation (e.g. Bruno or Swagger).

  • Source control systems experience (Endevor)

Compensation and Benefits


The annual base salary range for this position is USD 129,400.00 To USD 207,000.00
