The North Carolina Client (client) is seeking a SharePoint Technical Specialist - Junior - ECM Solutions Designer for a 12-month contract engagement for the Engineering Application Services Department.
**Selected candidate must be comfortable using their own equipment to remote into a virtual workspace. A laptop will not be provided.**
**No computer programming/coding will be performed in this position.**

Description:
The North Carolina Client (client) is seeking a SharePoint Technical Specialist - Junior - ECM Solutions Designer for a 12-month contract engagement for the Engineering Application Services Department. This is not a development position and involves no coding. This person will be responsible for business analysis and solution design in support of client's Preconstruction business processes that are valuable to client's Transportation Life Cycle. The selected candidate will take ownership of requirements gathering, solution design, documentation, QA testing, communication, and training, while working closely with team members and stakeholders to ensure alignment and support throughout the process. This role requires advanced SharePoint solution design expertise, strong analytical skills, and comprehensive QA testing capabilities, including system-level, scenario-based, workflow, and edge-case validation. Candidates must be experienced in project definition, user story creation, documentation, process redesign, communication management, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design SharePoint and web-based solutions that support Preconstruction business processes.
• Translate business and design requirements into detailed, actionable user stories.
• Prioritize, schedule, and deliver work independently with minimal supervision.
• Manage communication, dependencies, and project status across assigned initiatives.
• Document project and program deliverables.
• Create and maintain technical reference materials for the internal team.
• Collaborate with business partners to design and implement improved or reengineered processes.
• Perform rigorous QA testing, including system-level, workflow, scenario-based, and edge-case validation.
• Coordinate test validation and support deployment and implementation activities.
• Develop and deliver end-user training and corresponding training documentation.
• Prototype, refine, troubleshoot, and validate solutions with business users.
• Provide senior-level quality control across technical and functional deliverables.
• Mentor team members and provide subject matter expertise as needed.
Required Skills (8+ years):
• Extensive experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise-level environments.
• Proven senior-level experience designing SharePoint and web-based solutions.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and drive tasks to completion with minimal oversight.
• Advanced expertise in SharePoint lists, libraries, content types, site structures, and web solutions.
• Strong background in comprehensive QA testing, including system-level, workflow, scenario-based, and edge-case validation.
• Experience designing, validating, and supporting web and workflow-based solutions.
• Strong analytical, conceptual thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and business concepts.
• Strong organizational and presentation skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
• Proven experience evaluating business processes and performing business process re-engineering.
• Significant experience authoring structured, user-focused documentation-including user guides, technical reference documents, and knowledge articles-in compliance with WCAG accessibility guidelines.
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience as a SharePoint Designer or SharePoint Site Owner.
• Experience using Azure DevOps or similar work management tools.
