The mission of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) & NC State Veterinary Hospital, (VH) is to enhance animal and human health and well-being through the education and advanced training of veterinarians and provide leadership in veterinary care and outreach through interdisciplinary partnerships.
The VH provides compassionate care, state-of-the-art specialty health care, expert clinical instruction for 4th-year veterinary students from the College of Veterinary Medicine, and ongoing investigation of innovative techniques and procedures to further advance the field of veterinary medicine. Each year, nearly 32,000 patients are treated in the VH.

Essential Job Duties
The College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is seeking a Graphic Designer who uses creative storytelling to elevate the visual brand connecting the community with world-class animal care, education, and groundbreaking innovation.
Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Design and produce a varied array of marketing and communication materials, encompassing brochures, flyers, posters, social media graphics, website banners, email templates, newsletters, infographics, and more.
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing and communications team, as well as other stakeholders, to deeply understand project objectives and requirements.
  • Ensure all designs are visually compelling, align with brand guidelines, and are optimized for seamless integration across both print and digital platforms.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, evolving design methodologies, and emerging technologies to consistently elevate the caliber and impact of our visual communications.
  • Transform creative concepts into captivating designs that effectively convey key messages to target audiences.
  • Present design concepts and proposals to team members and clients, actively seeking and integrating feedback for continuous refinement.
  • Efficiently manage multiple projects and deadlines concurrently, maintaining an unwavering commitment to quality and meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications
Minimum Experience/Education
High school diploma or equivalency and two years of visual/graphic arts experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in graphic design and knowledge and proficiency in basic graphic design/layout. Demonstrated experience creating brochures, factsheets, advertisements, newsletters, and other print and digital marketing material using the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop).
  • Strong project management skills and demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects under the pressure of frequent deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Experience in higher education or a medical setting and demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of marketing, including media presence, public relations, strategic planning, branding, publications, e-marketing, and social media.
  • Demonstrated ability to summarize complicated issues clearly and succinctly in composing correspondence, effecting modifications, and attaining agreement with the appropriate constituents (if applicable) on making changes.
  • Ability to approach assignments in a proactive manner and continually seek to improve internal processes and ability to work creatively, collaboratively, and effectively both as a team member and independently.
