Job description

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a seasoned Staff Product Manager to own and scale products at the heart of ACV's marketplace — the dealer-to-dealer platform where thousands of vehicles are bought and sold every day. You have a strong track record of building scalable products end to end and leading a team of product managers as they grow. In this role you will set the product strategy for your area of the marketplace, lead and develop a team of junior PMs, and be accountable for the quality and velocity of everything your team ships. You are equally comfortable setting long-term direction and rolling up your sleeves on the hard problems, and you bring the judgment and strategic range to build great products that keep pace with our rapidly evolving business.

What you will do:
  • Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
  • Own the strategy and roadmap for your area of the marketplace, aligning your team behind shared goals and keeping everyone focused on the highest-value work.
  • Lead, coach, and grow a team of junior product managers — setting clear expectations, giving regular feedback, and helping each PM level up their craft.
  • Architect and scale products that perform reliably as transaction volume, users, and data grow, partnering closely with engineering on the trade-offs that keep the platform fast and dependable.
  • Partner with finance and executives to build the business cases and product targets that feed the annual operating plan, and execute against those targets to drive marketplace growth.
  • Drive discovery for new marketplace capabilities, and make the build, buy, or partner calls that decide where your team invests.
  • Set the standard for product craft on your team, defining how you do AI-native, prototype-led discovery and analytical rigor, and building reusable practices that speed up work across the team.
  • Lead go-to-market planning for major launches, defining success criteria and coordinating launch sequencing across Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment on multi-team initiatives, building relationships with leaders in adjacent functions to unlock opportunities and reduce friction.
What you will need:
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Finance, Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling products end to end, ideally in a high-growth, high-volume environment.
  • Experience directly managing, coaching, and growing a team of product managers
  • Fluency with AI-native product workflows, including rapid prototyping.
  • Product discovery, prioritization, product-strategy, and measurement (KPI) skills.
  • Business and financial acumen, including building business cases and financial models to present to executives.
  • Excellent communication and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Go-to-market and release planning experience.
  • Nice to have Marketplace or two-sided platform product experience.
  • Automotive or automotive-adjacent industry experience.
  • Experience building platform or API products that other teams build on.
  • Experience with products where scale, reliability, or data accuracy is mission-critical.
  • Technical depth, such as prior software engineering experience, fluency querying data with SQL, and comfort reading and reasoning about code.
