GOJET AIRLINES - JUNIOR MAINTENANCE CONTROLLER

LOCATION - ST. LOUIS, MO

The Junior Maintenance Controller reports directly to the Manager, Maintenance Control. The primary function of the position is to manage and plan short-term maintenance activities. The secondary function of the position is to support Maintenance Control with the goal of progressing to a Controller position. Operational control elements, when applicable, always reside with the air carrier.

QUALIFICATIONS/MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • A&P License, required.
  • One (1) year experience in Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering, preferred.
  • Knowledge of related Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering functions, aircraft regulatory requirements, and maintenance documentation.
  • Proficient computer/keyboard skills and sound knowledge of computer applications (e.g., MS Office). Knowledge of CATS is an advantage.
  • Complete INDOC and aircraft FAM (or equivalent) training.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of GMM and CAMP requirements.
  • Experience of CRJ products, preferred.
  • Attention to Detail.
  • Organized.
  • Positive and Focused Attitude to Aircraft Safety and Efficiency.
  • Effective Communicator: must clearly speak, read, and write English.
  • Extremely motivated and driven.
  • Able to follow instructions accurately and work independently.
  • Able to maintain focus for long periods of time.

Note: Any of the prescribed qualifications (except the A & P License requirement) may be overridden by the interviewing managers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Junior Maintenance Controller reports to the Manager, Maintenance Control.

  • Adhere to the Professional Standards as outlined in GMM.
  • Promote safety as number one priority in both aircraft and personnel.
  • Provide leadership and mandate compliance to ensure operations are performed within the guidelines set forth by government agencies (i.e., FAA, EPA, OSHA, etc.) and GoJet Airlines’ policies and procedures and applicable aircraft manuals.
  • Interfacing with Dispatch, Maintenance Planning, and Maintenance Control to route aircraft for maintenance.
  • Plan short-term maintenance MELs, NEFs, CDLs, Line Check 1 and 2, and other tasks less than 200 FH or 30 FC or 30 calendar days, and develop the station RON list daily.
  • Interface with Maintenance at all stations to troubleshoot MELs, NEFs, CDLs, and Carryovers as required.
  • Interface with Asset Management to ensure all required parts are available for MELs, NEFs, and CDLs when they are scheduled.
  • Interfacing with Asset Management to track part movements between stations.
  • Coordinate workload with Maintenance at stations and bases where work is scheduled to ensure proper manpower is available.
  • Follow up on tasks not completed.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors, as necessary.
  • Interfacing with the Fleet Support for troubleshooting MELs, NEFs, and CDLs to quickly add parts and to reduce repeat maintenance.
  • After Short Term Planning duties are accomplished, or as time permits, observe, learn, and perform Maintenance Controller activities under direct supervision from the Maintenance Control Supervisor and/or Senior Maintenance Controllers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
