Job description

Job Summary:
The Jr. Civil/Structural Engineer supports civil and structural engineering activities for onshore structures under the guidance of senior engineers. This role assists in the development of structural steel and concrete designs, engineering calculations, technical documents, and related deliverables while ensuring compliance with project requirements, applicable codes and standards, and company procedures. The position requires coordination with multidisciplinary teams, clients, contractors, and suppliers to support safe, efficient, and constructible project execution.
Responsibilities:
  • Support civil/structural engineering activities on assigned projects involving onshore oil & gas or industrial facilities.
  • Assist in the development of structural steel designs, concrete foundations, and site grading and drainage plans to support fabrication, installation, and operation of facilities.
  • Prepare engineering calculations, design sketches, specifications, and technical documents under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to support interdisciplinary design integration and resolve routine engineering issues.
  • Review and incorporate vendor and supplier information into project deliverables as required.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes and standards, and company procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with project team members, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Education Requirements:
  • BSc, MSc or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering is required
  • 0 - 4+ years of experience
  • NCEES Engineering-in-Training preferred
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to Civil/Structural Engineering
  • High level of commitment to safety
  • Highly motivated and positive attitude
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and excellent verbal/written communication skills

Software:
  • Ability to use STAAD, RISA-3D, or other computer aided design programs preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is primarily conducted in an office environment but may require occasional travel to off-site work locations.
  • Field duties may require outdoor work in a plant or facility.
  • When on field assignment you may be required to work in a plant and/or shop areas around production machinery subject to varying temperatures and noise.
  • May be at more than one job site in a day and must be able to tolerate climate changes.
  • May be required to travel out of town on a periodic basis.

Physical Requirements (With or Without Reasonable Accommodation):
  • Ability to lift and carry up to ten (10) pounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including sufficient clarity of speech, hearing, or other communication capabilities.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
