We are looking for a Jr. Engineer for the Environmental Division based in Pearl River, NY  The client for this role is the NYS Office of General Services (OGS) Design & Construction.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and track the collection of Environmental Project Declarations (EPDs) for construction projects within clients portfolio. 
  • Manage and track the collection of Construction Waste Management (CWM) Plans and CWM monthly reporting for construction projects within the clients portfolio.
  • Communicate among a wide range of groups and individuals involved in a project to ensure EPD and CWM submittals are completed accurately.
  • Ensure quality and compliance of EPD and CWM submittals through review and verification processes.
  • Consult with Project Managers, Team Leaders, consultant designers and contractors regarding EPD and CWM submittals.
  • Provide feedback to supervisor regarding improvements to the EPD and CWM programs.
  • Problem solve and troubleshoot process-based challenges and technical issues as needed.
  • Represent the Division as a stakeholder in various interagency working groups related to EPDs and CWM, with support from supervisor.
  • Keep up to date on industry trends related to embodied carbon and construction waste management and deconstruction.
  • Attend conferences and develop relationships with industry leaders.
  • Some travel may be required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, architectural technology, building science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, construction technology, or related field.
  • Master’s degree in architecture, architectural technology, building science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering technology, construction technology, or related field may substitute for one year experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction involving multiple phases of large-scale building/rehabilitation, with sufficient knowledge of all facets of construction and construction documents.
  • Professional experience in preparing, implementing or reviewing plans and technical specifications, coordinating and communicating with construction material manufacturers and suppliers, and document control.
  • Experience advancing initiatives from development through implementation and completion.
  • Demonstrates an interest in advancing sustainability and resiliency within the built environment.
  • Competent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic technical writing proficiency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Envision, Well-Building or LEED certification is a plus.
  • Engineer-in-Training certificate or proof of passing the FE, or Professional Engineering license in NY is a plus.

Compensation range:  Min: $80,000  - Max: $95,000/yr 

The range provided is the salary that the firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay for the advertised position.
