Job description

We're seeking a Product Manager to lead the development of our agricultural carbon removal platform. You'll be at the intersection of cutting-edge climate technology, agriculture, and carbon markets, building products that enable farmers to capture atmospheric CO2 while improving their crop yields and soil health. As our Product Manager, you'll own the product roadmap for our proprietary software platform that optimizes basalt application strategies, measures carbon removal with high accuracy, and manages the entire lifecycle from farm application to carbon credit sales.
About Lithos
Lithos Carbon revolutionizes the carbon capture industry through enhanced rock weathering technology. We work with farmers to spread basalt rock on farmland, which increases soil health and repurposes post-industrial waste. Our technology is aimed at removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere at a fraction of the cost of other methods, while helping farmers improve crop yields. Our team is made up of industry-leading academic scientists and proven entrepreneurs, and we are backed by top-tier investors like Union Square Ventures and Greylock Partners. We started commercializing the technology in 2022 and already signed customers for our permanent carbon removal credits including Stripe, Alphabet, Shopify, and McKinsey's Frontier program. You can read about our work in FastCompany, Axios, and on our blog.
Requirements
Product Management Fundamentals
  • Sprint Management: Lead agile development cycles; manage sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives with our engineering team.
  • Product Roadmap: Define and communicate product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business objectives and customer needs.
  • User Requirements: Conduct customer interviews, gather stakeholder feedback, and translate insights into detailed product requirements.
  • Wireframing & Design: Create wireframes, user flows, and work closely with UX/UI designers to craft intuitive interfaces for our web and mobile applications.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering, sales, operations, and science teams to deliver product features on time and within scope.
  • Metrics & Analytics: Define success metrics, analyze product performance, and iterate based on data-driven insights.
  • Data Systems & Backend Architecture: Design requirements for scalable data pipelines, APIs, and backend systems; collaborate with engineering on data architecture decisions that support both operational workflows and customer-facing analytics.
Digital Competency
  • Data-Driven Approach: Skilled in defining KPIs, analyzing metrics (e.g., retention, conversion), and running experiments like A/B tests.
  • Technical Fluency: Not coding day-to-day, but understanding APIs, data flows, and digital architecture enough to work effectively with engineers.
  • Some experience with/Exposure to basic programming languages (i.e. Java, Python, TypeScript, etc.). Computer Science experience is a plus!
Agronomic Systems
  • Agricultural Platform Integration: Design and implement connections with agricultural data systems to enable automated data collection and workflow verification.
  • Crop System Optimization: Build product features that help our teams account for different crop rotation systems, planting schedules, and agricultural practices.
  • Soil Sampling Workflows: Optimize our digital workflows for soil sampling protocols, lab integration, and result interpretation.
  • Partner Engagement Tools: Build analytics and reporting features that demonstrate value and ROI to agricultural partners.
  • Farm Operations Integration: Design features that fit seamlessly into existing farm management workflows and seasonal operations.
