As a Jr Technical Product Manager (AI Junior Product Manager) in our Chief Digital Office (CDO) within Optum Technology, you will drive the definition, design, and delivery of innovative, AI-powered technology solutions that transform the consumer digital experience, virtual assistant capabilities, and outbound engagement strategies. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy and cutting-edge digital engineering, collaborating closely with data scientists, software engineers, and business partners to deliver scalable conversational AI and proactive contact center solutions. This is a unique opportunity to lead the deployment of advanced virtual assistants and outbound workflows, making a measurable impact on the healthcare system as part of a high-impact, forward-looking digital team.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Decompose high-level business capabilities into manageable features, requirements, technical specifications, and user stories
  • Own, prioritize, and manage the product backlog to align with business priorities, technology strategies, and engineering capacity
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered solutions to address complex business challenges, with a focus on conversational AI virtual assistants (e.g., Cognigy, Google, Amelia Bots) and proactive outbound engagement (e.g., NICE Proactive AI or Smartreach Outbound)
  • Partner with engineering, data science, and architecture teams on the creation of technical requirements, model criteria, and test strategies
  • Evaluate emerging technology, conversational AI, and outbound proactive contact center trends to inform solution design, platform development, and strategic innovation
  • Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline internal product management workflows, automate routine tasks, and drive continuous improvement
  • Define and track key product performance metrics to measure success, drive post-launch refinement, and ensure high-quality software delivery

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree OR 4+ years of equivalent work experience in technical product management, software engineering, or business analysis

  • 1+ years of development experience or project experience within Agile development team

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Contact center leadership experience (highly preferred)
  • Education/training in technical product management, technical product ownership, or business systems analysis within a software engineering or technology environment
  • Experience working with databases, querying data using SQL, or utilizing data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) to analyze product metrics
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Agile Product Manager certification, or Pragmatic Institute product management certification

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
