Security Clearance Required: TS/SCI w/ Polygraph
Salary Range: $190,000-$225,000, depending on experience.

*This position has up to 16 hours of telework weekly*
What You Will Do:

The Backend Software Developer will design, develop, test, and maintain mission-critical software applications. Working as part of an Agile development team, the successful candidate will develop new software capabilities, enhance existing applications, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable solutions that support evolving mission requirements.

The Backend Software Developer will develop, execute, and maintain test procedures for software components to ensure functionality, reliability, and quality throughout the software development lifecycle. They will generate and maintain technical documentation, participate in Agile ceremonies, and collaborate closely with software engineers, system engineers, and government stakeholders to design and implement effective technical solutions.

The successful candidate will develop backend applications using Java, C++, or Python, manage source code using Git, and build applications that interact with relational databases such as PostgreSQL using SQL. They will leverage Amazon Web Services (AWS) technologies to support application development and deployment while utilizing collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence to manage work items, document technical solutions, and support Agile development processes.

The Backend Software Developer will also ensure quality control of newly developed and modified software through testing, code reviews, defect resolution, and continuous improvement, helping deliver reliable software that meets customer requirements.

Our minimum requirements for this role:

  • Fourteen (14) years of experience as a Software Engineer supporting programs or contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Experience developing backend software applications using Java, C++, or Python.
  • Experience supporting the development and execution of test procedures for software components.
  • Experience generating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Experience developing applications using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience using collaboration and project management tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience ensuring the quality of developed and modified software through testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
  • Experience using Git for source code management and version control.
  • Experience developing applications that utilize relational databases, such as PostgreSQL, and writing SQL queries.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university. Five (5) additional years of Software Engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
