Job description

Analog Devices is hiring a Staff Mixed Signal IC Design Engineer for the Hearables and Wearables Consumer Business Unit. The role involves analysis, research, design, simulation, characterization, and release-to-production of high-performance, ultra-low power integrated circuits.

As part of the hearables and wearables design team, you will create high-performance edge processing solutions that shape device operation, music enjoyment, and connectivity. The rise of connected, voice-activated devices and wearable audio peripherals demands innovative solutions.

The successful candidate will join a team with a track record of producing breakthrough innovative architectures for audio DAC/ADC and ultra-low power circuits. The successful candidate must have a strong, intuitive capability in solving complex challenges. The candidate will be self-motivated and be able to work effectively within a team.

Job Location: Wilmington, MA

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architectural definition and design of complex mixed-signal ICs from concept through production release
  • Participate in design optimization for power, performance, and area, and ensure compliance with rigorous quality standards.
  • Additionally, you will provide technical guidance to junior engineers and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovative solutions and deliver successful products to market.
  • Work with digital design and design verification teams on block and system integration and verification at the chip level
  • Coordinate with product definition, applications, and test engineering to define requirements and oversee the transition of new products from concept to production release
  • Assess and resolve complex integrated circuit issues in the laboratory

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, 7+ years CMOS IC design experience
  • Familiar with high-gain amplifiers, switched-capacitor circuits, comparators, integrators, voltage references, LDOs
  • Excellent written/verbal communication; strong cross-team collaboration
  • Manage layout and post-layout simulations

Preferred Qualifications

  • ADC/DAC design experience
  • Audio IC design background
  • Proficient in Cadence schematic capture and SPICE simulation
  • Skilled with MATLAB or similar modeling tools
  • Knowledgeable in digital signal processing concepts
  • Analog/digital behavioral modelling expertise
  • Team and project leadership experience
