About the Practice
Our Advanced Media & Technology group advises innovative companies and investors at the intersection of law, technology, and media. We handle complex commercial, intellectual property, and regulatory matters for clients in digital media, software, AI, data privacy, streaming, and emerging tech. The practice is known for its forward-thinking approach and deep industry knowledge.
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Junior Associate with 2-3 years of experience in a mid- to large-sized law firm to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technology and commercial transactions, including drafting and negotiating agreements related to software, SaaS, data licensing, digital content, platform partnerships, and media rights. Will consider candidates in Chicago and New York.
Key Responsibilities
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including SaaS, software licensing, API access, data processing, content distribution, co-development, and joint venture agreements.
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and clients to understand business objectives and translate them into sound legal frameworks.
  • Support transactional due diligence and client counseling in M&A and financing deals involving technology assets.

Contribute to client updates and internal knowledge management on emerging legal and regulatory trends in tech and media.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from a top-tier law school; admission to a U.S. state bar (Illinois or New York preferred).
  • 2-3 years of experience at a mid- to large-sized law firm, with a focus on technology transactions, commercial contracts, or intellectual property licensing.
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
