Job description

Job Overview

The Buyer Jr role deliver reliability, asset management, and effective communication across the business.  Perform buying assignments of a complex nature requiring experience in assigned commodities and purchasing procedures.   This position will be required to purchase items at the most favorable price consistent with quality, quantity, and specification requirements. Plans, directs, and controls activities relating to materials orders, purchasing, shipping, and receiving, and the movement and storage of materials used in the manufacturing of Hubbell Caribe Limited ("HCL").  Gives complete support to Manufacturing Supervisors, Managers, and Associates in activities focused on training, maintenance, and sustainment of continues improvement in all processes. 

A Day In The Life

.

Every day at Hubbell is different and you'll contribute in many ways.  On any given day, you'll make a difference by:

  • Create purchase orders based on production needs and inventory replenishment using SAP.
  • Partner with key internal stakeholders to ensure appropriate inventory levels.
  • Review business forecasts and usage to determine appropriate order quantities. Monitor lead times and supplier performance.
  • Ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and provide detailed information on expected availability of materials on any back ordered or missing products to internal customers.
  • Accounts payable reconciliation.
  • Prepares periodic reports or other data for presentation to immediate supervisor indicating record of achievement of established goals, recommended improvements, and projects.
  • On assigned inventory items react to engineering changes (EC), Defective Material Reports (DMR's), and inventory adjustments ensuring the availability of appropriate material and/or parts in the appropriate inventory level.
  • Ensures that the documentation and purchase of assigned inventory material and/or parts conform to the specifications and/or requirements established by "HCL" Quality System.  Work with quality management teams to process return goods and ensure credit receipt. 
What will help you thrive in this role?

  • BS in Technical or Business Field is required.
  • Minimum of two (2) to five (5) years' experience with Materials within a manufacturing environment preferably at Electrical or Electronic manufacturing.
  • Knowledge in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP exposure required.
  • Good communications skills written and verbal in the Spanish/English languages.
