ABOUT WOODDALE CHURCH
Wooddale Church is a multigenerational, Bible-teaching church in Minnesota with campuses in Eden Prairie, Edina and the University of Minnesota. OVERVIEW
Wooddaleโ€™s Junior High Ministry Associate is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about investing in junior high students and their families through relationship-building, teaching, mentoring, discipleship, and ministry leadership. Working alongside an experienced ministry leader, this person will receive guidance, support, and opportunities for professional and spiritual growth while making a meaningful impact in studentsโ€™ lives.

This individual will play an integral role in a thriving ministry that serves more than 200 students and partners with over 50 dedicated volunteer leaders. The ideal candidate enjoys meeting students where they are, creating fun and engaging experiences that build trust and connection, while also encouraging them to move deeper in their faith and relationship with Christ.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as a key contributor to the development and implementation of the vision, strategy, and direction of Wooddaleโ€™s Junior High Ministry in partnership with the Junior High Pastor.
  • Strategic planner, coordinator and leader of student ministry events as assigned
  • Establish relationships with students and parents by pastoring them through counseling and spiritual conversations
  • Lead ministry camps, retreats, and activities including Bible teaching and preaching to shepherd students in their spiritual journey with Christ
  • Initiate active involvement in relational student discipleship by attending student-focused events, outside of regular ministry times (e.g. extra-curricular events, etc.)
  • Equip and train volunteer leaders for student ministry by ensuring they understand the mission and vision of Wooddale and Junior High Ministry
  • Attend training sessions and gatherings with other youth workers
  • Help coordinate and manage Junior High social media platforms
  • Communicate and engage with students and families through various forms of media (social, print, video etc.)
  • Provide leadership and direction of summer missions trips
  • Assist with content and teachings for weekly programs and AUG doctrinal class
  • Serve communion and baptize students in Sunday worship services
  • Facilitate baptism and staff interviews
  • Attend weekly ministry planning meetings, training sessions and Student Ministries Team activities

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree (or anticipated graduation within one year)
  • Training, education, or degree that provides experience in student ministry strongly preferred
  • Active in a ministry mentoring relationship
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills; a love of people and commitment to ministry as service to God and the Wooddale family
  • Ability to relate to junior high students and families
  • Subscribe to and affirm the Statement of Faith and Covenant of Wooddale Church
  • Evidence of a commitment to Wooddale Churchโ€™s Purpose Statement of Honoring God by making more disciples for Jesus Christ
  • Be a regular participant in public worship at Wooddale Church
  • Remain a member in good standing of Wooddale Church

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Reports to the Junior High Pastor
  • Works with ministry teams related to Student Ministries
  • Coordinates with other members of the church staff, especially other Student Ministries staff and Next Gen staff

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK & TRAVEL
This position regularly requires flexibility to work a variety of hours (holidays, weekday, weeknight and weekend work) and the ability to travel to all campuses and off-site programs, as needed.

BENEFITS & COMPENSATION
Wooddale Church offers a comprehensive benefits package for all 40+ hour full-time employees, which includes opportunities to elect Medical (30+ hour full-time), Dental, Life/AD&D, HSA, Flex, LTD, optional Vision, optional Life/AD&D, optional STD, a Health & Wellness Plan and a 403(b) retirement plan with company match and immediate vesting. Estimated compensation range for this role is $41,000 - $48,000 depending upon qualifications and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and use hands to use office equipment effectively. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and move objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for reading documents and computer screens. Frequent standing, kneeling, reaching, sitting, bending, walking and talking abilities during student programming and activities. Participate in recreational activities, games, retreats, camps, mission trips, and other student ministry events that may involve moderate physical activity. The physical demands described here represent those that an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
