Junior Employment & Labor Associate Attorney to join a highly respected Am Law firm’s New York office.
Position Overview
A leading national firm is seeking a junior Associate Attorney with approximately 1–2 years of experience to join its Employment & Labor practice group. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney interested in both employment counseling and litigation work within a sophisticated, client-facing practice.
The ideal candidate will have exposure to employment law matters, including counseling, litigation, and employment support in corporate transactions. This role also involves significant day-to-day client interaction and cross-office collaboration, including work involving New York and Florida employment issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day employment law counseling to corporate clients
- Support employment-related litigation matters, including drafting and research
- Assist with employment aspects of mergers and acquisitions and other corporate transactions
- Advise clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws
- Draft policies, agreements, and related employment documentation
- Collaborate with corporate teams on deal-related employment issues
- Work closely with partners and clients on ongoing employment matters
Qualifications
- Approximately 1–2 years of employment law experience
- Experience in both employment counseling and litigation preferred
- Strong writing, communication, and analytical skills required
- Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
- Excellent academic credentials from a nationally recognized law school
- Admission to the Florida Bar or eligibility and willingness to pursue admission required
- Strong initiative, professionalism, and ability to manage client-facing responsibilities
Compensation
The anticipated base salary for this New York-based Associate Attorney position is $225,000–$235,000 annually, depending on experience and other job-related factors consistent with applicable law.
