An Am-Law 100 firm is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Shareholder to join the Chicago office. This is a strategic opportunity for a highly accomplished attorney with a minimum of 10+ years of labor and employment law experience who is passionate about handling high-profile, complex litigation matters and building long-term client relationships.

While a portable book of business is not required, the ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong track record in business development, with the ability to cultivate and expand relationships with institutional clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex labor and employment litigation matters, including high-stakes and high-profile cases.
  • Provide strategic legal counsel to clients on a wide range of labor & employment issues, including:
    • Employment discrimination
    • Wage & hour compliance
    • Labor relations
    • Workplace policies and risk management
  • Collaborate with internal teams and senior leadership to develop case strategies and client solutions.
  • Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with institutional clients, serving as a trusted advisor.
  • Drive business development initiatives, including client outreach, networking, and thought leadership.
  • Mentor and support junior attorneys and contribute to the growth of the practice group.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission (or ability to obtain admission) to the Illinois Bar.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in labor & employment law, with significant litigation experience.
  • Proven expertise handling complex, high-value employment litigation matters.
  • Demonstrated business development capabilities, including generating opportunities and fostering client relationships.
