Great opportunity for an early-career Chemical Engineer!

We are seeking a Junior Applications Engineer to support the selection, sizing, and application of filtration and separation equipment used within oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, and related process industries. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer who has a strong foundation in fluid mechanics and process equipment and wants to build hands-on applications engineering experience

Responsibilities

  • Review customer process data, specifications, datasheets, drawings, and P&IDs to determine application requirements
  • Assist with equipment selection and sizing for filtration and separation applications
  • Evaluate process conditions including flow rate, pressure, temperature, fluid properties, contaminant loading, particle characteristics, and pressure drop
  • Support applications involving liquid-solid filtration, gas-solid filtration, gas-liquid coalescence, and liquid-liquid coalescence
  • Prepare technical reports, equipment datasheets, calculation summaries, and supporting documentation
  • Assist with selection of filtration elements, vessel configurations, materials, seals, connections, and related components
  • Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and Operations to define technical scope and support project execution
  • Assist with customer technical questions, troubleshooting, design changes, and post-sale support
  • Maintain accurate technical calculations, documentation, and project records
  • Learn company products, engineering tools, sizing programs, specifications, and industry standards
  • Support additional engineering projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline
  • 1–3 years of engineering experience preferred; relevant internship or co-op experience will be considered
  • Understanding of fluid mechanics, mass transfer, and process equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, process datasheets, and equipment specifications
  • Filtration, separation, oil & gas, refining, petrochemical, or related process industry experience is a strong plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to learn new engineering tools, product selection systems, and technical processes
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Comfortable working collaboratively across Engineering, Sales, Operations, and customer-facing teams
