Job description

Job Title: Senior Application Developer (Appian)

Location: Clearwater, FL (Hybrid/Onsite)
Duration: 6+ Months Contract-to-Hire (CTH)

 Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Application Developer (Appian) to design, develop, implement, and support enterprise-grade business process management (BPM) and workflow solutions using the Appian platform. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Appian application development, process automation, systems integration, and Agile delivery methodologies.

This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and efficient business solutions.

 Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Appian-based applications and workflow solutions.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and scalable Appian solutions.
  • Develop Appian objects including process models, interfaces, records, reports, integrations, expression rules, and decision rules.
  • Build and maintain integrations with external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, web services, and databases.
  • Participate in application architecture discussions and recommend best practices for Appian platform development.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
  • Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards, security policies, and governance practices.
  • Collaborate with business analysts, project managers, QA teams, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
  • Support application upgrades, enhancements, and platform maintenance activities.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and deployment procedures.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership within the development team.
 Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of software application development experience.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Appian development experience in enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience with Appian SAIL, Process Models, Records, Reports, Interfaces, Expression Rules, and Integrations.
  • Experience integrating Appian with external systems using REST APIs, SOAP services, SQL databases, and web services.
  • Strong understanding of BPM, workflow automation, and business process optimization.
  • Experience with relational databases and SQL query development.
  • Knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and Agile practices.
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
 Preferred Qualifications
  • Appian Certified Senior Developer or Appian Certified Lead Developer.
  • Experience with Appian Administration and platform management.
  • Knowledge of Java, JavaScript, .NET, or other modern programming technologies.
  • Experience with cloud-based environments and enterprise application architecture.
  • Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and source control tools such as Git.
