Job description

Join our client’s team in Elkridge, MD, as a Junior Accounting Clerk / AP Clerk supporting day-to-day accounting and data entry operations. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing support, or accounting data entry who want to grow in a structured office environment and build a long-term career in accounting support.

The role focuses on invoice processing, payment support, recordkeeping, and accurate entry of financial and operational data. Candidates with experience as an AP Clerk, AR Clerk, Accounting Assistant, Billing Clerk, or Junior Accountant are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Process and enter vendor invoices accurately and on time
• Review invoices for approvals, coding, pricing, and supporting documentation
• Match invoices with purchase orders, receipts, and internal records when needed
• Maintain organized accounts payable files and accounting records
• Assist with payment processing and vendor account updates
• Support accounting and administrative data entry in internal systems and spreadsheets
• Help with accounts receivable support, payment posting, and reconciliations as needed
• Follow up on missing paperwork, discrepancies, and incomplete documentation
• Update reports and maintain accurate financial records

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, accounting support, or high-volume data entry
• Experience processing invoices, matching purchase orders, verifying approvals, and maintaining accurate payment records
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook; able to use spreadsheets for invoice tracking, sorting, filtering, and data review
