Responsibilities

We are seeking a Junior Accountant I to join our Accounting team. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of Unanet Time Administration and Payroll processing and ensuring adherence to policies, applicable law and regulations, procedures, and internal controls. This role reports directly to the Payroll Administrator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as lead for Time and Labor and Payroll processing. Support the Accounting team in handling a variety of escalated time/labor issues; provide direct support to the project teams on time and labor issues, as needed.

  • Interface with other functional teams as necessary including Recruiting, HR, Contracts, Subcontracts, etc.

  • Manage automated feeds between ADP to Unanet to ensure labor set up of new hires/terms are accurate

  • Manage time and labor set up for subcontractors entering time in the system

  • Manage processing of semi-monthly employee and subcontractor timesheets and payroll

  • Manage prior periods labor correction processing

  • Prepare labor reconciliations for review and posting of labor

  • Coordinate all Time and Labor activities for the monthly financial close

  • Prepare required weekly/monthly reporting as needed

  • Analyze Time and Labor process to identify issues and recommend process improvements

  • Responsible to develop training content as needed

  • Educate and train stakeholders to ensure timekeeping and payroll process is timely and accurate and adheres to internal policies and external regulations

  • Partner with Unanet technical support to resolve unforeseen issues with Unanet Time Collection

  • Document any issues and recommendations for resolution

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, government regulations and accounting principles

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Approximately 1 to 3 years of Payroll/Time Administration/relevant accounting / finance experience
  • High proficiency in MS Excel

WAGE INFORMATION

Target salary range: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00. The salary range displayed is an estimate only and is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, and will be determined on several factors regarding the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience, as well as contract parameters and organizational requirements. The displayed salary is one component of the total compensation package for employees.
