About the Position:
The Part-time Assistant Track and Field Coach will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach of TF/XC with the organization, administration, and coaching of the Men's and Women's Track and Field program. Specific duties include the horizontal jumps (LJ/TJ) and assisting our Associate Head Coach with sprints/hurdles. Candidates will be expected to adhere to all rules and regulations at George Mason University, the Atlantic 10 Conference, and the NCAA.
Responsibilities:
The Part-Time Assistant Track and Field Coach will assist in the following areas:
  • Recruiting;
  • Workout Implementation (practice set-ups, warm ups/cool downs, timing, spreadsheets, etc.);
  • Weight room supervision;
  • Organizing team activities and community service;
  • Team travel; and
  • Fundraising.

This is a 10-month (Sept-May) paid, non-benefitted position.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • CPR and First Aid certified;
  • 2+ years of high school or collegiate experience in horizontal jumps/sprints/hurdles;
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
  • Must be available to travel with the team to competitions on weekends;
  • Must pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle record check; and
  • Must currently possess an appropriate, active, valid motor vehicle operator's license that meets all of GMU's requirements for operating state vehicles and equipment under Mason's Vehicle Use Policy 1411 https://universitypolicy.gmu.edu/policies/vehicle-use/. The Office of Risk Management reserves the right to review the driver's licenses and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) of all candidates selected with employment contingent upon a favorable review.
