School Registered Nurse (RN) – Extended School Year (ESY)

Location: Natick, MA
Compensation: Up to $55/hr (*based on experience)
Openings: 1
Start Date: July 6, 2026
Hours per Week: 32
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to support an Extended School Year (ESY) program in Natick, MA. This role focuses on providing general school nursing services to elementary-aged students who require accommodations, including students with ASD and ADHD.

Responsibilities
  • Administer daily medications as prescribed
  • Perform student health assessments and triage
  • Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health needs
  • Document care and encounters accurately
  • Maintain health records using the SNAP school documentation system and paper filing
  • Support a safe and inclusive school environment
Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Experience working as a school nurse or with pediatric populations preferred
  • If the position extends beyond the initial contract, the nurse must be willing to obtain a DESE license
Orientation & Training
  • Two additional paid orientation/training days held in June
  • Training dates are flexible and will be scheduled in advance

Minimum Requirements:  

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferred 
  • School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract
  • One year of school nursing, public health or pediatric experience, preferred  
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice  
  • Current CPR if applicable 
  • TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable  
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)  
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements  
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
