Our clients include the NYS Office of General Services, Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, NYC Health + Hospitals, NYC Department of Design and Construction, NYC Parks & Recreation, NYC School Construction Authority, NYC Economic Development Corporation, Battery Park City Authority, and NYS Parks, Recreations and Historic Preservation. 
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Jr Estimator with a minimum of 3-5 years of proven construction estimating experience to join our Construction Management team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing accurate construction cost estimates across various stages of project development, from pre-construction and conceptual budgeting through construction execution and closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive construction cost estimates for a variety of building projects, including educational facilities, healthcare, commercial spaces, and public agency developments.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and develop cost estimates using established construction management methodologies.
  • Assist the CM team in evaluating project delivery methods, reviewing constructability, and identifying value engineering opportunities.
  • Review blueprints, specifications, and contract documents to accurately calculate material, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Assist in bid leveling, trade contractor scope reviews, and the validation of contractor and subcontractor pricing.
  • Analyze and evaluate construction change orders and track project budget variations during the construction phase.
  • Collaborate with senior estimators, construction managers, and clients to ensure alignment on budget and scope.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of direct construction estimating experience, specifically within a construction management or general contracting environment.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, RSMeans, Timberline) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of building construction methods, materials, project sequencing, and local New York market pricing.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and stakeholders.
