Job Description:
Description: The Occupational Therapist PRN evaluates and executes Occupational Therapy plan of care for patients in order to prevent illness and disability and restore function following and injury or illness.
Typical Duties:
  1. Helps patients reach their maximum functional levels by utilizing techniques to improve physical health, prevocational skills, homemaking skills, activities of daily living, educational, recreational, and social activities.
  2. Addresses associated sensorimotor, cognitive and psychosocial components.
  3. Designs and constructs splints and adaptive equipment and devices as necessary.
  4. Documents patient care and charges.
  5. Provides leadership and direction for support staff and Occupational Therapy students.
  6. Participates in professional development and continuing education to ensure compliance with licensure laws.
  7. Performs related tasks as needed to insure effective delivery of Occupational Therapy Services.
  8. Performs other related JOB duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
    Required Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Science degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited University.

  • Preferred Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
  • 1 plus years' experience as an Occupational Therapist.

  • Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
  • Current licensure by Texas Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy Examiners.
