Job Summary:
An outpatient OB/GYN provides a wide range of women's health services in a clinic setting, including prenatal care, gynecological exams and screenings, contraception counseling, diagnosis and treatment of reproductive health conditions, and patient education on preventative care. The role involves detailed patient assessments, diagnostic testing, treatment planning, maintaining accurate electronic medical records, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to deliver cost-effective and high-quality care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Patient Care: Provide care during prenatal, postnatal, and all phases of women's reproductive health, including screening, diagnosis, and treatment of various conditions.
• Exams and Procedures: Perform well-women exams, including pelvic and breast exams, Pap smears, and administer necessary tests and biopsies.
• Patient Counseling: Educate patients on birth control, safe sex practices, preventative medicine, and the expectations of pregnancy and childbirth.• Diagnosis & Treatment: Diagnose and monitor reproductive system diseases and disorders, ordering and interpreting lab results and screenings.
• Collaboration: Work with midwives, nurses, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement comprehensive patient care plans.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, treatment plans, and medical records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
• Administrative Tasks: Participate in administrative duties, such as reviewing lab reports, managing medication refills, and ensuring cost-effective resource utilization.
• Compliance: Adhere to all organizational policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations, including HIPAA.
ACADEMIC & EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
• Supports the education and professional development of medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care learners, providing appropriate and timely mentoring either personally or through senior Departmental faculty.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited OB/GYN residency program.
• Board certification or board eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Valid medical license in the state of Texas.
• Strong diagnostic and clinical skills.
