Job Description:
Description: The Speech Pathologist evaluates and executes Speech Therapy plan of care for patients in order to prevent illness or disability and restore function following and injury or illness.
Typical Duties:
  1. Helps patients reach their maximum functional levels by utilizing techniques to improve speech and language problems, diagnosis and treatment of swallowing disorders, and cognitive and psychosocial disorders.
  2. Evaluates and executes a Speech Therapy plan of care for patients.
  3. Documents patient care and charges.
  4. Provides leadership and direction for support staff and Speech language Pathology students.
  5. Participates in professional development and continuing education to insure compliance with licensure laws.
  6. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
    Required Education and Experience:
  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

  • Required Licensure/Certification/Specialized Training:
  • SLP-CCC: Current Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology from American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) OR
  • Must meet the educational requirements for certification and is in the process of accumulating the supervised experience required for certification
  • Current Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology
