Job description

Overview:

JP Management is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join our Accounting Department. The ideal candidate must be detail-oriented with a knowledge of accounting procedures and financial reporting practices. The candidate should have a strong knowledge of software and database systems used in financial reporting. Strong PC skills and proficiency with spreadsheet programs, such as MS Excel, are essential.

This position will work closely with the construction team and finance team on project budgets, approval, timelines and tracking.

This is a full-time, onsite position that will require being in our office 5 days a week.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Review & audit monthly income and expenses for multiple properties.
  • Bank/Security Deposit Reconciliations.
  • Prepare annual income and expense statements; and rent rolls for municipal and lender reporting.
  • Reconcile mortgage loan principle, interest and escrow balances.
  • Coordinate and manage contract fulfillment and execution for Capex and recurring Ops contracts and vendors.
  • Manage relationships with vendors during the bid process, vendor set-up, during projects and payment/closeout.
  • Be engaged in the permitting process, inspections, punch-list, warranty, etc.
  • Accounts payable in invoice coding, vendor statements, vendor negotiations and accounting workflows.
  • Handle month-end closing process for a portfolio of properties.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
  • Property Management, Real Estate or Construction industry experience preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word (Lookup, Logical and Data Manipulation Functions)
  • Experience working with accounting software programs.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively track, report, manage multiple projects and priorities with deadlines.

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 base
