Accounting Manager

Job Summary

The Accounting Manager reports to the Sr. Manager, North America Controller, and is responsible for the daily operations of the general accounting team, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely monthend and yearend close processes. This role is both handson and supervisory, ideal for someone who can balance detailed accounting work with leadership and process improvement.

Essential Duties

  • Lead daytoday operations of the general ledger accounting team, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop accounting staff to strengthen technical capabilities and support career growth.
  • Oversee and participate in the monthly financial close process, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Analyze general ledger and subsystem outputs for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in accordance with IFRS.
  • Perform and review general ledger account reconciliations to maintain integrity of financial data.
  • Perform cost center variance analysis and balance sheet analysis.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules prepared by the team.
  • Prepare monthly cash forecasts and support cashflow planning activities.
  • Build strong crossfunctional relationships with Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Master Data, and Operations.
  • Ensure obsolete, excess, and slowmoving inventory reserves comply with IFRS and corporate policy.
  • Contribute to the development and documentation of finance processes, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Prepare audit support schedules and coordinate responses to external auditor inquiries.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls.
  • Provide training on financial transactions and procedures to internal stakeholders.
  • Strengthen internal controls in alignment with Japan SarbanesOxley (JSOX) requirements.

Minimum Qualifications Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and SOX/JSOX
  • Subject matter expertise in SAP Finance
  • Experience in a large, multinational organization is a plus
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, modeling)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problemsolving abilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across all levels
  • Selfdirected, proactive, and detailoriented with a teamfocused mindset

Target Pay Range:  $37.00 to $47.00 -  Hourly pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  10.0%
