Job description

The Senior Business Systems Analyst collaborates with business customers and the software development team to design, develop, and enhance software applications. This role ensures quality applications by aligning product strategy with customer needs, gathering detailed requirements, and supporting development through implementation. The analyst leads or participates in essential stages of the software lifecycle, including design, testing, training, implementation, and stakeholder communication.


  • Creates detailed requirement specifications, designs web and mobile user interfaces, workflows, and documentation. Guides the development of new or updated software products using facilitation skills, interviews, and business and market research to refine requirements.
  • Serves as the intermediary between business users and the software development team, acting as Scrum Master for assigned projects. Leads agile teams in planning and execution.
  • Performs root cause analysis on issues and documents, analyzes, and helps correct software defects throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with business engagement team members and cross-functional IT teams to identify gaps between current applications and desired outcomes, assesses and implements improvements.
  • Assists the lead with project planning, tracking progress, reporting status, managing issues, escalation, resolution, and change control.
  • Leads activities associated with the application production promotions and implementation activities. Supports the creation of user manuals and training materials, and communicates planned changes internally to customer support, marketing, and other stakeholders.
  • Aids in establishing and adhering to software development methodologies, standards, procedures, practices, and goals.

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer information systems, business, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent listening, verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Excellent influencing and consultative skills, including the ability to get results through others without having direct reports.
  • Knowledge of RPI tools and holder of either (Yellow Belt, Green Belt, Change Agent)
  • Works independently under minimal supervision and according to established procedures and policies.
  • High energy, strong work ethics, quick learner and team player
  • 5+ years of business and systems analysis in software product development, preferably healthcare or related work experience. Knowledge of the Foundry application is strongly preferred.
  • Note: Within 6 months of hire, the individual selected for this position is required to have completed specific Foundry training modules including the Front-End Development training track.
  • Expertise in requirements analysis, use case development, and familiarity with commercial software, compliance, and regulatory markets.
  • Ability to analyze business systems, document requirements, and identify process improvements.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodology and Scrum Master experience.
  • Proficient with project life cycles, data flow diagrams, web interface design, data modeling, reporting, and technical architecture.
  • Understanding of relational databases, use of query/reporting tools, and SQL statement construction.
  • Excellent problem solving, facilitation, customer service, influencing, and consultative skills; capable of achieving results through others and improving products efficiently.
