Job description

FIELD SERVICE SPECIALIST

Job Purpose Summary:

The Field Service Specialist (FSS) will complete reactive service, PMs and installations at customer’s locations on coffee, espresso and other beverage equipment. The position is technical in nature and requires the ability to problem solve and to be able to work with your hands. The position requires a fluid work schedule and must address immediate issues/concerns that come up during the workweek. There will be some overtime and weekend work with this position.

Reports To: Director of ServiceStatus: Full Time

Focus: Third Party and Direct Service Customers

Responsibilities:

  • Completes regular on-site service, PMs and installs; documents calls by completing paperwork on site and updating Daylite (CRM) while on site.
  • Programs coffee and espresso equipment to customer specs; instructs on proper use of machine, cleaning protocols and reports maintenance concerns appropriately.
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues on the phone and in the field.
  • Provides routine maintenance on espresso machines, coffee grinders, and coffee brewers.
  • Working knowledge of all coffee equipment, able to recommend equipment, and complete installations as needed.
  • Completes shop work on machines when not in the field.
  • Maintains and keeps service vehicles clean and neat.
  • Maintains parts inventories.
  • Completes continuing education as required.

Job Requirements

  • People-Oriented, Exceptional Interpersonal and Service Skills
  • Ability to work independently.
  • 1 year experience as a technician is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Basic technical abilities:
    1. Routine Maintenance, Cleaning, Equipment Programming, Troubleshooting
  • Team-Driven, Ability to Collaborate and Communicate Effectively
  • Competent in Coffee Preparation and Brewing Equipment Operations
  • Demonstrated Teaching Ability, Passion for Learning
  • Possible Out of Town Travel
  • Company Vehicle will be provided, Valid NC Driver’s License
  • Strong Motivation, Ability to Work Independently
  • Time Management Skills, Flexibility in Prioritization
  • Prolonged, Frequent Ingestion of Coffee and Tea
  • Prolonged Periods of Time on Feet
  • Ability to Lift 50+ Pounds
