Employees may work directly with horses, manage racing operations, or support the business side of the industry.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of someone working in a Jockey Club management position?

On a typical day in Jockey Club management, you may coordinate with event staff to organize races or member events, manage club operations, and ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations. Responsibilities also often include handling member inquiries, maintaining records, and liaising with jockeys, trainers, and vendors to ensure seamless operations. Collaboration with marketing, finance, and facilities teams is important to promote events and oversee budgets. This role requires balancing administrative duties with customer service, making each day varied and engaging for those passionate about the equestrian and sporting world.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Jockey Club position, and why are they important?

To thrive in a Jockey Club management role, strong organizational, event planning, and stakeholder management skills are essential, usually supported by experience in hospitality or sports administration. Familiarity with event management software, membership systems, and a basic understanding of horse racing industry regulations is often required.
