Hours:
  • Monday - Friday.
  • 1st Shift - 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Purpose:
  • The Material Handler is responsible for scanning and loading staged finished product at the Raw Goods Warehouse location on the delivery truck and deliver to the Warehouse II location, where they will unload and move to the appropriate area in the warehouse.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Attend and be on time for all pre-shift production meetings.
  • Participation and adherence to all food safety and safety programs.
  • Work safely, quickly and efficiently to handle freight and move inventory throughout the warehouse.
  • Maintains inventory utilizing scanning equipment identifying, labeling, and placing materials and supplies in stock; recording in the ERP system.
  • Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders.
  • Maintains in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies, insuring first in first out rotation utilizing the information in the ERP system.
  • Documents in the ERP system materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units.
  • Receives return material and supplies from production by verifying materials and supplies code and lot number and quantity; placing materials in stock and recording the transactions in the system.
  • Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing product and records all transactions.
  • Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections.
  • Set up production lines according to production schedule.
  • Create and print all required labels for materials received.
  • Maintain supply of materials to the operators as necessary.
  • Transfer of finished product to Warehouse Staging, WIP as required.
  • Proper storage and handling of all non-conforming and Work-In-Process materials.
  • Loading and unloading of all trucks coming in to shipping/receiving and accurate completion of all receiving or shipping documents including transactions in the ERP system.
  • Material handling for stocking, retrieving, selecting and/or staging of inventory for Production or order fulfilment, potentially needing to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Receiving and stocking of incoming material including counting, labeling, putting away in proper storage areas and recording all of the above.
  • Packaging and Shipping of completed orders.
  • Checks and counts all material unloaded for quantity discrepancies and notifies the Purchasing Department when discrepancies occur.
  • Stock incoming material in the appropriate inventory location.
  • Provide delivery support as required.
  • Receiving supplies from vendors while verifying that they are correct inspecting the product.
  • Identifying any missing, lost or damaged materials/product and immediately notify the supervisor.
  • Ensuring that all the merchandise is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.
  • Keeping an inventory through proper scanning of all product entering or exiting the warehouse.
  • Setting and shipping orders following stock rotation procedures.
  • Accurately and legibly maintain all shipping and receiving documents.
  • Report to work on time and complete job tasks as assigned accurately and on time.
  • Maintains positive and respectful attitude while working independently and in a team environment.
  • Effectively communicate all relevant information to your peer and supervisor.
  • Immediately report any and all food safety and quality problems to management.
  • Assisting with training of newly employed workers.
  • Maintain cleanliness, neatness and safety of building and work area.
  • Cycle-count and take weekly inventory within the warehouse.
  • Picking and staging orders while following FIFO and all customer requirements.
  • Understand that the day will include: driving the delivery truck, picking/staging orders, shipping orders, working alone and working with a team, and strong accountability from management.

Skills/Work Experience Needed:
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • CDL with valid driverโ€™s license preferred.
  • Insurable through companyโ€™s carrier.
  • 2+ Years RFG Gun experience required.
  • 2+ Years Forklift experience required.
  • Capable of reading and understanding all shipping and receiving documents.
  • Computer knowledge to enter shipping/receiving documents.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • Work independently; self-managed.

Work Environment:
  • Exposed to outside conditions due to the nature of the position.
  • Production area can vary in temperature either be cool or warm depending on the season and possibly humid in the summer months.
  • Concrete floors are slippery, especially when wet.
  • Intact senses of sight, with corrective lenses are necessary.
  • Hearing and vision are required in order to be able to hear and read documents pertaining to the job.
