Data Coordinator - COPE

Job No.: 690964

Location: The Alfred Centre

Employment Type: Part-time, fraction (0.4)

Duration: 2 year fixed-term appointment

Remuneration: Pro-rata of $86,344 - $99,179 pa HEW Level 05 (plus 17% employer superannuation)

The Opportunity

Monash University is seeking a highly organised and motivated Data Coordinator to support the COPE trial within the Department of Anaesthesia and Perioperative Medicine, part of the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.

Based at the Alfred campus within the School of Translational Medicine, this role plays a central part in delivering the COPE Project, Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment for Older People having total hip or knee replacement surgery.

Funded by the NHMRC, COPE is a stepped wedge cluster trial involving 9 to 12 hospital sites across Australia. The study aims to evaluate the clinical and cost effectiveness of introducing a geriatric assessment model of care for older patients undergoing elective joint replacement surgery, and to develop a national implementation roadmap for health services.

As Data Coordinator, you will oversee and monitor REDCap data management processes across participating sites, ensuring high standards of data quality, integrity and completeness. You will develop clear, user friendly guidance materials, support site staff with accurate and consistent data collection in line with study protocols, and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Working closely with the COPE Senior Project Officer and research team, you will report to the Chief Principal Investigator and contribute to the smooth, compliant and efficient delivery of this important national trial.

About you

You will be degree qualified in a relevant field with addition demonstrated experience in: 

  • REDCap database design, data management and monitoring
  • Clinical trial coordination or multi site research projects
  • Data quality assurance and reporting
  • Development of standard operating procedures and user guidance materials

You will bring:

  • Strong administrative and organisational capability, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence engaging diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
  • High level computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and the REDCap platform
  • A commitment to service excellence, data integrity and continuous improvement

You are detail oriented, proactive and collaborative, yet comfortable exercising sound judgement and working independently when required.
