PART-TIME CEMETERY LEAD-IN / ADMIN ASSISTANT

Reports To: Cemetery Admin Supervisor
Supervises: None
Part-Time/On-Call $19 per hour
 

The Part-Time Cemetery Lead-In / Admin Assistant supports cemetery operations, funeral services, and office administration while providing compassionate customer service to families and visitors. This role assists with service coordination, administrative tasks, and cemetery support duties to help ensure smooth day-to-day operations and professional service experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative & Office Support
Greet visitors and assist with phone and in-person inquiries
Process interment orders, burial records, and lot ownership information
Coordinate scheduling with cemetery grounds crews and funeral homes
Track and manage merchandise orders including markers, benches, and memorial products
Maintain accurate records, files, and service documentation
Provide administrative support to cemetery staff and Family Service Representatives

Funeral & Cemetery Service Support
Assist Funeral Directors and cemetery staff during services and events
Support service setup and breakdown including flowers, chairs, stands, and related equipment
Assist families and guests with professionalism and compassion
Maintain clean, organized, and safe workspaces
Perform light janitorial duties as needed
Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned

Requirements

Professional Standards
Maintain a professional appearance
Conservative business attire required
Men: Suit Jacket, Muted Shirt, Tie for Services
Women: Muted Colors or Professional Equivalent for Services (black and white best)
Proper footwear required (no open-toed shoes); suitable for all weather conditions
Company-issued name badge required
No visible tattoos or facial piercings
Natural or professional hair color required
 

Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2 years of customer service or office administration experience
Valid driver's license with insurable driving record preferred

Strong customer service and communication skills
High attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Dependable, adaptable, and team-oriented
Basic computer and office software proficiency

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
Ability to lift 50-75 lbs independently and up to 200 lbs with assistance
Ability to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, rain, and snow
Ability to work around bereaved families with professionalism and compassion

Equipment & Tools
Regular use of funeral and cemetery equipment including service vehicles, church trucks, flower stands, casket biers, electronic sound systems, and general office equipment.
