Job description

Blue Nile is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized QC Associate (Quality Control Associate) to join our manufacturing team. In this role, they will be responsible for ensuring that all jewelry products meet our quality standards and specifications. The ideal candidate has mid-process jewelry manufacturing quality control experience and a keen eye for detail and will play a critical role in maintaining the excellence of our jewelry manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform detailed inspections of in process jewelry products throughout the manufacturing process, including rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and other accessories, to ensure they meet established quality standards and specifications.
  • Provide feedback to bench workers on quality of individual jewelry pieces during manufacturing to promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and record quality-related data of any defects, imperfections, or deviations from quality standards in the jewelry items, including issues related to design, craftsmanship, settings, gemstones, and overall finish.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments and tools to verify the accuracy of jewelry dimensions, gemstone sizes, and other critical measurements.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, industry standards, and company quality control policies throughout the jewelry manufacturing process.

Requirements
  • Understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • GED or equivalent high school diploma.
  • Previous experience in Quality Control, particularly in a Jewelry Manufacturing company required.
  • Familiarity with the jewelry manufacturing process, including materials, gemstones, settings, and finishing techniques, preferred.
  • Ability to use a variety of tools and instruments, such as calipers, micrometers, gemstone gauges, and magnification devices, to perform precise measurements and inspections.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to propose improvement processes and strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams within production.
  • Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Computer fluency including Microsoft office products.

Base pay is $22.50-$24.00. Final pay rate shall be determined and is based on experience and qualifications.
