Job description

The Lead Fitness Attendant is responsible for delivering an exceptional member experience in the Fitness Center. This position ensures smooth daily operations, upholds cleanliness and safety standards, and provides guidance and support to members as needed.

The Lead Fitness Attendant is the primary point of contact for escalating member concerns in the absence of the Director of Fitness and the Fitness & Recreation Operations Manager. This role models professionalism, accountability, and outstanding customer service at all times.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Deliver exceptional, proactive customer service by greeting members and guests, ensuring proper check-in procedures, and fostering a welcoming environment.
  2. Ensures daily operational excellence and adherence to Fitness Center policies and procedures.
  3. Handle member questions, concerns, and complaints professionally and effectively in the absence of department leadership.
  4. Maintain current knowledge of all programs, services, and activities offered at the JCC to promote participation and assist members accurately.
  5. Ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety standards are maintained throughout the Fitness Center, and third-floor restrooms.
  6. Follow all Emergency Action Plan procedures and respond appropriately to emergencies. Report incidents promptly to appropriate leadership.
  7. Communicate member feedback, operational concerns, and facility issues to the Director of Fitness or Fitness & Recreation Operations Manager in a timely manner.

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Complete incident reports and required documentation accurately and promptly.
  2. Support department administrative initiatives as assigned.

AGENCY EXPECTATIONS

  1. Attend all required staff meetings and agency trainings.
  2. Model the JCC’s mission, values, and commitment to community.

Must have one of the following:

  • Personal Training Certification
  • Group Exercise Certification
  • Previous experience in fitness, healthcare or as a first responder and willingness to obtain a personal training or group exercise certification within first 3 months of hire

WORK SCHEDULE

Monday/Wednesday                            4:00pm-8:00pm

Sunday                                                9:00a-1:00pm
