Job description

Our organization is looking for Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Anesthesiologists to become part of our established anesthesia team at the Mercyhealth Javon Bea Hospital - Riverside in Rockford, Illinois.

This position offers the chance to work at a Level I Trauma Center, dealing with a varied and high-acuity case mix that includes trauma, high-risk obstetrics, and orthopedic surgeries. Enjoy a consistent weekday schedule along with competitive pay and robust administrative support.

Opportunity Overview:
  • Full-time role at Mercyhealth Javon Bea Hospital - Riverside, a 195-bed Level I Trauma Center.
  • Regular hours: Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • In-house 24-hour call rotation: approximately 1:2.7 days (one weeknight per week and 1-2 weekends per month)
    • Weeknight in-house call: 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. following an 8-hour shift.
    • Coverage responsibilities: trauma or obstetrics.
    • Post-call day off for in-house coverage.
  • Pager call rotation: 2nd, 3rd, and 4th calls with an estimated 20-minute response time.
  • Moderate call volume.
  • Utilization of EPIC EMR.
Departmental Scope:
  • Administer anesthesia for trauma, high-risk obstetrics (Level III Perinatal Center), orthopedic, and general surgical procedures.
  • 14 operating rooms dedicated to trauma cases.
  • Support from a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
  • Collaboration with MDs, CRNAs (mainly in the endoscopy suite), surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Engagement in quality improvement initiatives and multidisciplinary care planning.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • MD/DO, board-certified or board-eligible in Anesthesiology.
  • Recent, comprehensive trauma experience is essential.
  • Experience in regional and obstetric anesthesia is required.
  • Capability to deliver high-quality anesthesia in a high-acuity, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a patient-centered approach.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base Salary: $550,000 (General), $630,000 (Cardiac).
  • Additional funding of up to $100K for student loan repayment and/or sign-on bonus.
  • Relocation assistance available up to $10,000.
