Job Description:
As a ServiceNow Event Management Specialist, you will be responsible for implementing, managing, and optimizing event management processes within the ServiceNow platform, focusing on effective monitoring, detection, and resolution of IT infrastructure events. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective event management, compliance, and optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
• Understands Discovery scheduling and potential network impacts.
• Experience in designing and implementing complex, multi-tier, multi-tenant, end-to-end solutions in a high availability environment.
• Implement, Monitor, and optimize Event Management for event correlation and proactive issue identification.
• Creation/implementation/modification of ServiceNow Event Management
• Lead the implementation of the Event Management module to enhance monitoring and alerting capabilities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Integrate ServiceNow with various third-party tools and systems to streamline operations and enhance functionality.
• Create and maintain documentation for configurations, integrations, and workflows.
• Develop and maintain Event rules, RegEx Patten, CI binding, Mapping, transformation and connector instances (Push and Pull)
• Develop and maintain different types of Alert management and correlation rules
• Create and maintain flows/Subflows/java script to automate incident creation and triggering automation flows
• Create and Maintain ITOM dashboards
• Conduct system testing and ensure quality assurance for all developed solutions
• Provide ongoing support for ServiceNow Event Management, ensuring platform stability and uptime.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to event management, monitoring integrations, and alerting configurations.
• Perform routine maintenance, including platform upgrades and patching for ServiceNow Event Management and related monitoring tools.
• Configure and manage event rules and workflows.
• Analyze events to identify trends and patterns.
• Correlate events to reduce noise and improve alert accuracy.
• Proactively manage incidents with clear visibility when services are at risk.
• Understand and utilize ServiceNow's Event Management features, such as noise reduction, alert correlation, and automated remediation.
• Utilize the platform to monitor events, identify issues, and escalate to appropriate teams.
Qualifications:
• Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in ServiceNow development, with a focus on ITOM Event Management module.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in ServiceNow platform development, including scripting (JavaScript), workflows, and integrations.
• Strong understanding of ITOM processes and best practices.
• Scripting (JavaScript) for different modules for writing Rules, Updating/creating workflows, APIs etc.
• ServiceNow integration Experience with key monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Science Logic etc.
• Strong understanding of ITOM processes and best practices.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
• Good understanding of ServiceNow architecture and best practices.
