Overview:
Location: East Bay/Oakland, CA
Salary: $138,000 - $158,000
We are seeking a Curam Technical Architect who will support our client to lead Java design, programming, and software maintenance for enterprise application systems, with a focus on Cúram and related non-Cúram applications. This role will support a complex Cúram upgrade from a highly customized 7.0.9 environment to Cúram 7.x or 8.x while ensuring custom add-on features remain integrated and reliable. The ideal candidate has hands-on Cúram 7.x or 8.x certification or training, strong Java development experience, and the ability to maintain, upgrade, secure, and document mission-critical application environments.
Duties:
  • Design, develop, and maintain Java-based application components for Cúram and non-Cúram systems.
  • Support the upgrade of a highly customized Cúram 7.0.9 environment to Cúram 7.x or Cúram 8.x.
  • Integrate existing custom add-on features during the Cúram upgrade while preserving system stability and functionality.
  • Correct legacy production defects and troubleshoot application issues identified during operations, maintenance, and upgrade activities.
  • Modify existing application logic to support regulatory updates, workers’ compensation law changes, and other governmental mandates.
  • Implement new system features and enhancements based on approved business requirements.
  • Conduct software upgrades and related technical activities for supported application environments.
  • Identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities across supported applications and environments.
  • Monitor, maintain, and document application environments, configurations, technical changes, and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with technical and business teams to analyze requirements, validate solutions, and support knowledge transfer.

Mandatory Qualifications:
  • Cúram certified (7.0 or higher)
  • 7+ years of Java programming experience.
  • 5+ years of Cúram software maintenance and development experience.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Cúram 7 maintenance & development
  • 4+ years of experience modifying COTS software.
  • 4+ years of experience developing and maintaining batch systems.
  • 4+ years of experience developing and maintaining real-time, online systems.
  • 4+ years of experience working with Databases.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Cúram architect experience
  • 3+ years of experience in integration with Document Management System.
  • 3+ years of experience with setting up a Cúram build environment.
  • 2+ years of experience leading large scale programming projects.
  • 2+ years of experience in workers’ compensation systems.
  • 2+ years of experience analyzing and developing paperless systems & workflows.
  • 1+ year of experience with RTC.

Desirable Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2+ years of XML experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with UNIX/Linux/Red Hat.
  • 2+ years of planning and scheduling of code modifications.
  • Demonstrable or other evidence of analytical skills including identifying business and software requirements.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Prior experience with EAMS.
