Principal Software Engineer – Forward Deployed (Java / React / AI)

Location: Dallas, TX (Onsite) Employment Type: Contract Experience Level: Senior / Principal (13+ Years)

Position Overview We are seeking a highly adaptable Principal Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) to join our team in Dallas, TX. In this hybrid architecture and engineering role, you will bridge the gap between complex business challenges and scalable technical execution.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in enterprise full-stack development (Java and React) combined with hands-on experience integrating Applied AI and Agentic workflows into production environments. You will partner directly with stakeholders to design solutions, build rapid prototypes, and own the technical delivery from concept through to cloud deployment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Consulting & Architecture: Lead client workshops to translate complex business requirements into defined service boundaries and scalable system architectures.

  • Full-Stack Development: Modernize, build, and maintain robust enterprise applications utilizing Java (Spring Boot) for backend microservices and React.js for client-facing portals.

  • Applied AI Integration: Architect and embed AI capabilities directly into business workflows, utilizing Python to build RAG applications, LLM-driven document extraction, and multi-agent systems.

  • End-to-End Ownership: Drive the complete software development lifecycle, including rapid MVP prototyping, CI/CD pipeline management, and production monitoring.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate closely with product managers, UX designers, and business leaders to communicate technical trade-offs and drive product strategy.

Required Qualifications

  • 13+ years of software engineering experience, with a strong background leading architecture in Tier 1 enterprise environments.

  • Core Engineering: Expert-level proficiency in Java (Spring Boot) backend development and modern React.js frontend architecture.

  • AI / Agentic Frameworks: Hands-on programmatic experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI, Claude, AWS Bedrock) using Python and orchestration frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI.

  • Cloud & Infrastructure: Extensive experience deploying and orchestrating microservices using Docker and Kubernetes within AWS, Azure, or GCP environments.

  • Methodology: Proven success in Agile environments with a strong bias for action, rapid prototyping, and test-driven development.

Ideal Candidate Profile This role is specifically designed for a "utility player"—an engineer who is equally comfortable whiteboarding solutions with business leaders, writing complex Java backend services, tuning React components, and scripting Python-based AI workflows. Strong communication skills and a consultative mindset are essential for success in this role.
