Job Title: Digital Training Instructor

Job Status: Full Time

Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Digital Training Instructor uses skills obtained through experience and/or formal training to create and provide a safe learning environment designed to engage students in digital training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Implement digital instructional activities to youth
  • Use technology to promote learning and creativity
  • Develop and execute basic computer programming and/or photography lessons as part of the enrichment program
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
  • Identify, select and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles and special needs
  • Maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents and other professionals on a regular basis
  • Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment
  • Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers and community
  • Ensure that student growth and achievement is continuous and appropriate for age group and/or program classification
  • Demonstrate gains in student performance
  • Meet professional obligations through efficient work habits such as: meeting deadlines and honoring schedules
  • Operate standard office equipment and use required software applications
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

  • C++, Linux+, Database (Access), Java, HTML, SQL, Visual Basic, MS Visual Studio 10, Windows OS

Skill in:

  • Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications for program area and other applications, including Microsoft Office

Ability to:

  • Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives
  • Clearly present material to students
  • Incite enthusiasm and influence, motivate and persuade others to achieve desired outcomes
  • Interpret and apply policies and identify and recommend changes as appropriate
  • Organize, manage and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
  • Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Handle stressful situations and provide a high level of customer service in a calm and professional manner
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:
  • Minimum Degree Required:
  • Youth & Education: Associate degree
  • AANM: Associate degree
  • Minimum 60 college credits
  • Required Disciplines:
  • Youth & Education: Computer Science or related discipline
    • AANM: Art in Photography or Art, Business, Marketing and other courses approved by Human Resources
